A FINE PAIR OF CHINESE CANTON ENAMEL DISHES,
CIRCA 1800-1820.
The interior of each dish is painted in colored enamels with a mirror image of a butterfly amid multicolored blossoming peonies and bamboo on a white ground. The outer rim is decorated with flowering peonies sprigs and a narrow blue rim band. The exterior is enameled in a bright yellow extending over the base painted with a single peony flower.
