An English enamel basket-weave patch-box,
c.1770-80.
The patch box is of rectangular form with gilt metal mounts having a wave pattern design. The enamel has an attractive basketweave design with a shaped central embossed panel having a pink weave border and pink roses to the center. Each corner has a heart shaped panel containing a polychrome flower. Between the panels on the cover and body are scattered flowers. Slight touch-up to the enamel on the top of each corner of the box.
