An English Regency Ormolu-Mounted Glass Jug,
Circa 1820.
The jug with flared foot and ovoid body is mounted with fine ormolu. The ormolu handle is in the form of a serpent, its head peeking over the rim of the jug and is attached to two ormolu bands, one around the neck and the other around the belly. The central section with diamond cut, the rim castellated and the foot with a sun-burst design on its underside.
