An Unusual American Sailor's Woolwork (Woolie),

TW Seas,

Circa 1875.

The wool depicts a port side view of an American Brigantine under full sail in rough sea flying an American Ensign.  She flies a number of other identifying flags and banners including a red banner from her main mast which reads TW Seas as well as a company flag-Two C's back to back on her fore mast and a series of flags on her Mizzen mast.  

The ship is depicted in a circular format with an unusual surround with flower and butterflies.
