A Pair of Oval English Creamware Sea Shell-decorated Dishes,

Neale & Co.,

Circa 1780-86

The lead glazed moulded earthenware with a puce printed design of sea shells and sea weed with a similarly coloured  painted feathered rim in puce and remains of original gold enhancement to rim.  Although not marked, these dishes are identical to a service at Winterthur (see below) where some pieces are marked and with an important American provenance of Mrs. Perez Morton.
