Astronomici means Astronomics.  This is a rare pattern in black and white with gold highlights.  


Diameter: 10 inches


Mark: A moon and sun within a circle with smiling faces with scattered stars and the pattern name Astronomici written across edge of circle; above right the Fornasetti hand and brush and Fornasetti. Milano/Made in Italy and the numeral 9 to the right.

Reference: Fornasetti: Designer of Dreams, Patrick Mauries, 220 for colour illustration of set of twelve made in 1955. The author writes, " Fornasetti looked at astronomy in 17th century terms, when it was not distinguished from astrology.
