An English Brass Conservatory Tripod Stand,
Made by William Tonks & Son
The tripod table has a circular openwork top supported by a central column with three splayed legs terminating in ball feet. From the registration number, the design dates to 1884. I think this is quite a striking and beautiful Aesthetic Movement stand, somewhat crossing the designs of Christopher Dresser and W.A.S. Benson.
