Plum Red-ground Saltglaze Stoneware Teapot & Cover,

Circa 1760.

The teapot with crabstock handle and spout has one of the rarest ground colours to be found in saltglaze stoneware.  Each side is painted with naturalistic flowers within a yellow surround to each side and on panels on the cover. Two tiny chips to cover invisibly repaired.

Dimensions: 4 3/4 inches high x 7 inches wide x 4 1/2 inches deep
