Pair of Remarkable Blue Jasper Dipped Sprigged Stoneware Vases & Covers,

Attributed to Neale,

Early-mid-19th century.

The ornate footed vases with a blue ground and with sprigged decoration.  The vases with white scrolled handles encircled by two entwined serpents which slither towards a group of fruit on the shoulder.  

Around the central panel a procession of putti ride chariots pulled by grayhounds below floral rosebud festoons.  The neck with further applied neoclassical design devices and floral bouquets and the lower section and foot with flowers and swags.  One cover with old break and two chips and break to one handle now invisibly repaired.

Dimensions: 20 1/2 inches high x 12 3/4 inches wide x 10 inches deep.
