Mid-18th Century English Glazed Redware Small Teapot & Cover.

Early English Pottery Redware Teapot,



The small redware pottery lead glaze teapot has a red coloured body with cream-coloured clay appliques of flowers & leaves.

Reference: The Henry H. Weldon Collection-English Pottery, Stoneware and Earthenware 1650-1800,  page 262, # 148 for different examples of this type of redware.

This type of pot was formerly called Astbury-Wieldon ware.

Provenance: Frank Partridge label with St.James and NY address.
