Staffordshire Large Pearlware Model of Bird on Tree Branch Designed as a Whistle,

Circa 1810-20.


A lovely figure of a bird is a whistle depicted on a branch of a tree, its claws wrapped around the branch in a mottled dark gray green, all on a hollow square base.  The tip of the tail is the mouthpiece for the whistle. The tail and tip of beak with invisible repair.


Provenance: Colonial Williamsburg Museum.


Dimensions: 8 3/4 inches high x 7 inches wide x 4 inches deep.
