French Porcelain Pot Pourri Jar & Cover,


Circa 1750-55.


The Mennecy porcelain potpourri jar & pierced cover has applied individual florets (en forme de pelotes de neige) or schneeballblüten decoration (snow ball) and a naturalistic moss-covered rocky base modelled with a branching tree to one side.  The cover similarly decorated and with three series of holes for potpourri in the shape of a flower-head.  There is a single raised flower finial.  The interior lip of the cover with a slight loss.

Dimensions: 6 3/4 inches high x 6 inches wide x 4 inches deep ( 17cm x 15 cm x 10 inches
