First Period Worceester Porcelain Tureens in the form of Partridges,

The large rare First Period Worcester porcelain tureens are naturalistically modelled in the form of polychrome naturalistically partridges nesting on a pale yellow bed of straw, feathers and green grasses.

Dimensions: 5 1/2 inches high overall x 8 1/4 inches long x  8 3/4 inches deep; (13.97cm high x 20.96cm x 22.23cm deep).

Brian Haughton commenting on a pair which they have sold mentions that Worcester produced only two naturalistic tureens and covers, the cauliflower and the partridge. Examples that are more naturalistic in colour are the earlier forms.
