English Underglaze Blue and Manganese Delftware Dish,

Probably Bristol,

Circa 1760-70.

The delftware dish is painted with an underglaze blue and a manganese cracked ice ground on the border.  The central well depicts a Chinese building  under a weeping tree.  The border with the cracked ice ground separating four blue rimmed cartouches of buildings and a weeping tree.

Diameter: 13 1/4 inches

Reference: English Delftware in the Bristol Collection, Frank Britton, Page 199 #12.56/12.57/ 12.58 for several similar examples described as probably Bristol.     

Condition: glaze loss to upper left
