The London delftware underglaze blue dish depicts a male and female figures by a rock, the female pointing to a nearby ruin, a tree with sponged foliage and birds flying overhead.

The author discusses the discovery of the print source for this design...originally drawn by Francois de Cuvillies, who died in 1768, study of the large volume of his works in the Victoria and Albert Museum indicated that they were almost certainly engraved by Lespilliez posthumously c. 1770 see below- ( Title page for Livre 10).
