Chelsea Porcelain Botanical Molded Cabbage Leaf Dish With Painted Flowers,

Circa 1755-58.


The large molded cabbage leaf dish is well painted with a large bouquet of flowers and multiple scattered large flowers.


The flowers were probably derived from prints by Monnoyer, see John V.G. Mallet's Decori con fiori naturalistici e botanici a terzo fuoco in Gran Bretagna (Faenza, 1-3, 87.2001) p.156-7.


Dimensions: 10 1/2 inches x 7 3/4 inches x 1 1/2 inches


Overall good condition, minor rubbing to decoration, minor kiln imperfections, small chip to end of dish with inpainting, small chip to side of plate with minor inpainting.
