Meissen Porcelain Sunflower-Form Dish with Three Attached Lemon Boxes and Covers,

Circa 1760.


The trompe L'oeil dish consists of three applied boxes and covers in the form of lemon placed upon a large moulded naturalistic sunflower dish.


Mark: underglazed crossed swords mark.


Dimensions: Length overall 9 1/4 x 8 1/2 inches x 2 inches high; each lemon: 3 inches x 2 1/2 inches x 1 1/2 inches.


Condition-some minor repair to base & two flowers on lemon box conserved.
