Chinese Export Porcelain Mandarin Tankard with Dragon Handle,

Circa 1775.


The Chinese Export porcelain cylindrical tankard has a loop handle formed by a dragon.  The tankard is painted with a large painted panel with mandarin figures of men and women on a balcony overlooking a river with an underglaze blue scroll border.


Another smaller panel is painted below the handle with a bird on rockwork.  The whole body with an overall design with small circular orange circles overlaid with bouquets of famille rose and underglaze blue flowers.


Dimensions: 5 1/2 inches x 4 3/4 inches diameter x 7 1/4 inches
